I'm backkkkkkkkk! Was it a crazy week or what????? I'm totally exhausted from work. It was so hectic, busy, and numbing. Got a lot done though, which is satisfying. So, here I am a week later with my final lo for August for the SOD kit "Kathy's Nature Walk". This lo has photos of my first grandson, Chase and his grandpa. Aren't they precious together. Grandpa can be so stern sometimes with him that it is good to see them having fun together.
The August kit was a combination of Bo Bunny's collection "Heritage" and Kaisercraft's "Botanical Gardens". The background paper is from the later, but the all the papers used on top of it are from Bo Bunny. I started by spreading Gel Medium all over the page. I inked around the edges with Prima's "Knotted Wood" and "Dark Bark". I stamped the circles using the coveted "Stitched Circles", which is no longer available. I searched high and low for that stamp, and finally found it. I used some texture paste and a circles stencil to add texture to the background. But, alas, you can't even see them. No matter, I know they are there.
Once I got the background done I went to town on the design. In the kit are these really cute pocket squares from Bo Bunny. They came in 3 different sizes, so I decided to do a layered diagonal design. They all blended together so well. Picture below.
The rest was easy!! I added the photos onto a mat from the collection. Die cut some leaves from the ever popular Prima leaves dies. I used some flowers that were included in the kit, along with some from my stash. It just came together so well.
The title is from my stash. The dragonflies are from the kit. There are also some really cute brads and buttons. I used the little banners from the button set, wove some twine through it, and there you have it!
I will admit that the hardest part of this lo was getting the little squares positioned and layered. I felt like it took me forever, but I finally got them to the way I like them.
I really hope that you like my lo!!! Still having problems with getting comments added to the blog. Have the software technies working on it.
If you love scrapbooking like I do, but don't really know or can find the right things that go together well, please consider the SOD kit club. You will not regret it! More information below.
