It was a very scary early morning (1:30 am) today. We had a 7.1 earthquake about 172 miles away. The epicenter was in the same location as the 9.3 quake in 1964. Boy did it shake, and for a Loooooooooooooong time. Needless to say I did not sleep well after that. However, we are never toooo tired to scrap, right?
I have another layout to share using the Scraps of Darkness (SOD) January kit “Beloved”. This is a photo of my daughter Jennifer and her kitty Ebony (sadly past away) taken in her Senior year of high school. I really love that photo.
I started by using a sheet of Bo Bunny “Leather and Lace” collection from the Coordinating Paper Add On for my background. I stenciled using modeling paste and a Tim Holtz stencil “Gothic”. I also splattered a little white ink around the background.
The frame around the photo was created using a Sizzix die. I tucked in the two lace hearts from our Main Kit under the little paper images that were printed on various papers from both the Pattern and Coordinating Papers Add On.
I adhered a gorgeous piece of black Venetian lace I have been hoarding, and placed large pearls strategically on it.
I fussy cut the rose collage from an ATC from a paper included in the Pattern Paper Add On.
Next I added the gorgeous flower cluster and other flowers around the bottom of the photo. The flowers came from the Floral Add On. The flowers were just a tad bit light, so I used some Lindy's Spray mist (using a paint brush) to liven them up.
I added some of my trinkets, which I HOARD to the bottom left of the flower cluster (key and frame). I used a sweet chipboard piece on the left which came in the Elements Add On, and added the year of the photo. I tucked in some little punched black sprigs using the new Tim Holtz punch that I just got in the mail.
Next I added sweet pearls on the background in various places to add a little eye candy.
I hope you enjoyed my blog today. As I said earlier, I’m a little tired after the shocking night, think I will take a nap…..
