Vintage Me!!!!

Hi Everyone!!!  I have a rough 3 weeks ahead of me.  An old back injury requires that I have an epidural cortison shot next week in my back.....OUCH!  Not looking forward to that one, but hopefully I will be able to stand and walk again without being in excrutiating pain.  Then, I go in for my final major oral surgery.  Another OUCH!  On Halloween day no less.  I thought I would meet the kids at the door with my mouth dripping with blood!  Yikes did I really say that LOLOLO!!

Okay down to business.....I have another layout (lo) to share using the September Scraps of Darkness kit "Blush".  This time I reached back into my archives and came up with a picture that was taken when I was competing for the Miss Juneau pageant in 1972.  Do you believe that was 44 years ago......Gosh I feel old........

The background paper is one of the Prima "Vintage Emporium" papers included in the Coordinating Paper Add On.  The left side of the lo has clusters of fussy cut flowers that I cut from the Kaisercraft "Treasured Moments" collection which also comes in the Coordinating Paper Add-On.

I adhered a gorgeous piece of Tresors lace that I have been hoarding down the middle.  Behind it I glued a piece of hemp ribbon that came in a previous kit.  Next to the ribbon I stamped a swirly design using a stamp from an older kit.

I inked a paper doily to place behind the photo.  I heat embossed a chipboard oval frame from my stash using the Blue Fern Studio Embossing Powder "Antique Gold".

To create the lovely flower clusters I started by fussy cutting more flowers to mixed with the other flowers.  At the bottom right I used a beautiful rose.

Most of the flowers came in the Main Kit and Floral Add-On.  I also added some from my stash.  The little clock at the top left side was included in the Elements Add On (Chipboard).  I tucked some pearls in each of the clusters.

To finish it all off, I added a sweet double-loop bow which I created.

Here's another view of that gorgeous lace.

I hope you enjoyed your visit.  Please stop by again.  To order the Scraps of Darkness or Scraps of Elegance kits, you will find them at
