Birthday Week!!!

Oh my!!  What a week!  Yep, I celebrated my birthday this week.  Problem was I was in training for 8 hours, 4 days straight in those wonderful conference room chairs.  Can you say "ouch"!!  Hubby wanted to take me to dinner, but I was so tired when I got home from work, I just flopped and passed out!!  LOL (not from the birthday drink LOLO)

I have another lo that I made using the gorgeous Scraps of Darkness May kit, Soulshine.  The kit is sold out, so this layout is my Design Team inspiration.  The photo is of my Mom holding my brother and me.  Yep, that's little ole me standing next to the rocking chair.  Mom was 19 at the time.

I started with one of the Blue Fern Studios (BFS) papers included in the Main Kit, and cut a notch at the top and bottom.  I then inserted a piece of yellow BFS paper from a previous kit.  I rolled and distressed the edges of the top paper and inserted bits of lace and flowers from previous kits.

I did a little stamping and ink splattering around the page.  I added 2 doilies at the top right and bottom left of the layout.  I added little pieces from the Prima Ephemera Die Cuts included in the Main Kit.

I cut a piece of chipboard from my stash in half, Inked around the edges, matted it on a piece of cardstock with little touches of lace around the edges.  I matted my photo and then started playing with the embellishments.

Back to the doily embellishment...on the bottom left I fussy cut a sweet little girl from one of the BFS tags printed on one of the papers in the Patterned Add-on.  I added Gold Stickles all over her.  I adhered some flowers from the Floral Add-On and my stash, along with a little clock and tag (the clock is included in the Ephemera die Cuts from the Main Kit).

In the Elements Add-On is a packet of Prima's Mechanicals "Grungy Butterflies", they are so yummy.  I used 2 in different sizes.  On one of them I glued a sweet little flower.

Next I created flower clusters using more flowers from the Floral Add-On and my stash.  I added a sweet little key that is also in the Prima Ephemera pack.   I also tucked in some little pieces of yellow ribbon from a previous kit.

I have been hoarding the gorgeous lace I used around the edges of the layout.  It came in a previous kit.  I think it is perfect for this layout.  In the corners I diecut corner pieces and inked them with Prima's Color Bloom "Antique Gold".

I hope you enjoyed your visit and will stop by again.  Remember the Scraps of Darkness kits sell out quick, so you may want to consider joining the club.  More information can be found at:  http://www.scrapsofdarkness.com/kits/?sort=alphaasc

Till next time, here's a Big Alaska Bear Hug!!
