Scraps of Darkness (SOD) May Kit Layout

Hi Everyone!!  It's been at least 2 weeks since I've posted with the Memorial Day weekend and a virus filled week for me.  I swear Grandchildren are like little petrie (sp?) dishes.  They catch every little bug and pass it along to you.  This one was a killer.

On to the show.  I have one of my favorite los to share that I just created.  Sometimes they just fall into place, which is what happened with this one.  The photo is my Mom and Dad.  Weren't they a cute couple?

I used an older paper for the base of my lo in a pale aqua.  I distressed the background Blue Fern Studio (BFS) "Tranquility" paper included in the Main KIt.  I lightly sprayed some Lindy's Stamp Gang ink mist in aqua to give it a watercolor feel.

When I opened the little packet of diecuts from Prima that were included in the Main Kit, I went bananas using them all over the lo.  I layered them under and over the layers that I created for the photo.  So much fun.

When I opened the little packet of diecuts from Prima that were included in the Main Kit, I went bananas using them all over the lo.  I layered them under and over the layers that I created for the photo.  So much fun.

I used several different papers from the Coordinating Paper Add On and others from my stash for the photo layers.  On one of the pieces of paper I glued some cotton lace which came in a previous SOD kit.

Next I cut the beautiful chipboard from BFS in the Elements Add On.  I heat embossed the pieces with embossing power included in this month's Scraps of Elegance kit.  I tucked in some gorgeous lace that I have been hoarding and placed it along the bottom of the photo layers.

I glued down the lovely Prima "Salvage Distrist" spray across the bottom.  I placed several little aqua roses.  Both flower pieces came in the Floral Add On.  I tucked in some butterflies and pieces of ribbon.

I used chipboard pieces from my stash (bird cage, sign, and frame around the photo).  On the sign I used a sweet little rose that was one of the brads included in the Elements Add On.  I also used a rose in the center of the large butterfly in the flower cluster.

Finally, I glued down some beads around the lo.  I just love the affect they give.

I am working on another layout using this gorgeous kit, so I hope you will stop by again to check it out.  Remember, Scraps of Darkness and Scraps of Elegance kits are available at http://www.scrapsofdarkness.com/kits/?sort=alphaasc  Next month's SOD is very exciting.  Hint:  It's featuring Graphic 45 collection perfect for summertime.  So you better hurry when they go on sale, as they sell out VERY quickly.

I'm so glad that you stopped by and would love to hear from!  Till next time here's a Big Alaska Bear Hug!
