I have been so remiss in keeping in touch lately. Am on the road to recovery from my oral surgery, and awaiting the next round. I have a layout to share today that I finished up 2 weeks ago, but haven't had the time to post. It's featuring the SOD July Kit and my 1st grandson, Chase. He is so photogenic, I love to take his picture. I used the wonderful G-45 papers for this lo.
I used one of the papers from the Kaisercraft "A Mermaid's Tale" for the background paper. I applied modeling paste through a stencil on the bottom half of the lo to simulate bubbles, and then sprayed 2 different Lindy's Stamp Gang Mists in turquoise and teal to brighten it up.
For the top half of the lo, I matted my photos and used an image from the G45 papers. I fussy cut 2 seahorses to use on the sides of the photos. I created a small layer of different tags, chipboard and scraps of the paper.
Now back to the bottom half of the lo! I did a lot of fussy cutting of various images from the G45 and Kaisercraft papers from the Main and Add On kits. I started at the bottom left with the Kaisercraft and cut the coral, seaweed image and tucked in a few flowers. I also fussy cut the little man riding on the big fish and placed it as if he were riding through the coral to explore the treasure chest.
On the bottom left side of the layout I fussy cut a piece of seaweed and some sweet little starfish. I used the treasure chest chipboard behind it. I heat embossed it using Stampendous Aged Black Embossing powder that has wonderful flecks of gold. Then I used gold micro flakes on top to look like gold coins. My grandson loves to hunt for treasures using treasure maps. He has been saving up all his lost teach to give to the Tooth Fairy so that he can get a $100 gold coin. He has been getting $1 gold coins for every lost tooth, so this part of the lo is especially for him to enjoy.
I also fussy cut the little octopus and adhered him to the lo.
That's it for this layout! Thank you so much for stopping by. Remember you can find the Scraps of Darkness kits at http://www.scrapsofdarkness.com/kits/?sort=alphaasc
