Hello dear friends! I'm back to share my first layout using the Scraps of Darkness May kit "Attic Finds". What a fun kit. This kit has allowed me to challenge myself with a style that I have not used before, vintage!!! The kit is filled with 7 Gypsies and Authentique with all the goodies to go along with whatever you want to create.
This layout features me as a baby with my Mom and Dad. Mom is just 18 and Dad is 20. They look so young
The foundation for my layout is from 7Gypsies. I used one of the other papers from the collection to go on top which I cut apart the wood images, distressed the sides and then glued them down. I tucked in some cotton lace here and there to give it an old-fashioned textured look. I really like how it turned out. On the right side I glued down a vintage heirloom embroidered ribbon that I have been saving for years.
I matted the photo with the brown cardstock from that Add-On and then used a gorgeous paper doily that came in a previous kit. The doily is all shimmery. I inked around the edges using the Prima Color Philosophy Ink Pad from the Color Add On. Before I glued down the photo I adhered some cheesecloth to add more dimension. I formed a little twine wreath to circle the photo.
Below the photo I used a flourish chipboard from my stash. I inked it with the Prima Ink Pad before adding it to the layout. Next I used the Dusty Shale Garden Vine from a previous kit. I inserted the GORGEOUS Prima Peachy flowers from the Floral Add-On. There are little butterflies and a bird that comes in this month's Tim Holtz Ephemera pack from the Scraps of Elegance kit. I used them because their color blended better with this layout.
On the left bottom side of the photo I used a birdcage chipboard from Blue Fern Studios that is included in the Elements Add-On. I used the Metallic Distress Stain from the Color Add-On and topped it with a sweet little flower.
At the bottom left side of the layout I used a little envelope die cut from the Tim Holt Emphemera pack included in the Main Kit. I added a little circle of the same twine used around the photo and tucked in some flowers from the Floral Add On.
And finally....the title is chipboard from a previous Scraps of Darkness kit, but is also included in this month's Scraps of Elegance kit. I used the Prima ink on it as well.
