Witches, Potions, and Spells, Oh My!!!!

Bawahahahahah!!!  My nickname used to be the "Wicked Witch of the North"......at work it's a slight variation, if you know what I mean LOLO!  I couldn't resist making a layout (lo) using this photo of these old hags!  Look at those weathered faces!!!

Scraps of Darkness (SOD) is owned by Melinda Kelly, and she is known for her October kit.  I wait all year for it!  This year is called "Haunted" and features lots of Bo Bunny's collection "Wicked".  And, indeed it is!!!!  This lo was very hard to photograph, I Photoshopped it to death, and am still not happy with the results!

I started with one of the Bo Bunny papers from the Main kit.  I love harlequin patterns.  I used a transparency down the center with another script patterned paper behind it.  The transparency I purchased from Mel at the SOD store.  Behind the transparency I applied a piece of the orange cardstock from the Cardstock Add On.  I matted the photo with several different papers from the kit.

I applied gesso on the background to make the frame I used from my stash pop.  I applied Stampendous "Aged Black" Embossing Powder that came in last year's SOD October kit.  You can also see the little black mico beads that I adhered.

Above the photo I used the "Poison" die cut that comes in the Main Kit. I applied Black Diamond Stickles around the edges and used double cardboard on the back to make it really stand up.  I did this because I wanted to drape a sparkly piece of black tulle that came in last year's October kit.  I wanted it to give a little bunting effect.  On each side I added little flower clusters using flowers from the Floral Add On and others from my stash.  I applied gesso to give it a creepy feeling!

At the bottom of the photo I created a large collage/cluster of flowers and magic potion bottle pieces of chipboard.  I started in the center with a large orange flower from a previous kit.  I sprinkled more little black micro beads and added a little spider to keep with the creepy feeling of the lo.  I added various flowers from the Floral Add On, Main Kit and previous kits.  On each side I added magic potion bottle chipboard pieces that come in the Elements Add On.  The little skull is a die cut from the Main Kit.  I also added little pieces of tulle for balance.

In the Elements Add On are included a packet of Tim Holtz's Halloween Rub Ons.  These rub ons are fabulous.  They are so easy to apply.  I added several little word phrases around the background.  I think it adds a nice touch!

Tomorrow night is All Hallows Eve!!!  I hope you have a wonderful time trick or treating.  I will be spending the evening recovering from major oral surgery!!!!  I plan on greeting the kids at the door with the blood dripping from my mouth, snarling (not!!!)

Bawahahaha!
